The coffin is supposed to have a small pin (or maybe it's a magnet?) in the corner that makes it close and open, but mine won't stay closed, so it's just flopped open all the time :( Not that it doesn't look cool both ways, but I wish I didn't have just one mode of wearing it; I want to be able to have it closed sometimes.
Unfortunately, because the charm is pewter and stays open all the time, the front of the coffin is now heavily tarnished. There are now copper patches all over the front and back of the coffin, everywhere it touches my skin. I guess this makes it a good thing that it's open all the time, so the tarnished parts aren't visible (the inside of the coffin that people see is intact since it doesn't come in contact with my skin). In the first week of having it, I wore it a lot and that's when the tarnishing happened. Disappointing. At least the sterling silver chain is still perfect, and I still wear it when I need a "chunkier" necklace to mix up my chain layering.
